LEMFÖRDER Company is the largest official supplier of car parts for most European automobile manufacturers. Among its main partners are such concerns as VW, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Ford, Volvo and many others. Spare parts for aftermarket service are also produced under the brand “Lemforder”. It’s a part of ZF Friedrichshafen AG Corporation.

The history of LEMFÖRDER Company

LEMFÖRDER Fahrwertechnik Company was officially established in 1947 in Lemförde, Germany. Its founder is Jürgen Ulderup, the famous inventor of ball joints known all over the world. In the beginning he worked in his father’s small farm which was engaged in exchange and resale of consumer goods. In the post war years it was decided to commercialize car parts and in 1984 the majority stake of the company was bought by ZF Friedrichshafen AG Corporation. Since 2000 the company has the name “ZF LEMFÖRDER AG”.

The company factories which numbers nearly 30 now are situated in Germany, Spain, the USA, Japan and some other countries. The main business line of ZF LEMFÖRDER AG is the production of vehicle steering and suspension components.

The company head office is still situated in Lemförde. Its logo is represented by an owl and this symbol has become a distinctive guarantor of high quality and reliability. But it should be mentioned that nowadays the company uses two trademarks at the same time. That’s why if you’ve made up your mind to buy car spares by LEMFÖRDER online and after getting the purchase you see the letter L instead of the usual company logo, it doesn’t mean that you’ve bought a fake.
