  • Underseat. These are convenient and unobtrusive.
  • Dash-mounted. These attach to the dashboard by means of an adhesive pad.
  • Cup holder. These are usually available in larger sizes and do not require mounting.

There are air fresheners with and without intensity control. The controllable kind are usually equipped with a rotatable cover with holes that can be moved to adjust the odour concentration. Non-adjustable ones are cheaper and have a simpler design.

Disposable and reusable devices are available. The latter allow the possibility of refilling or installing a new cartridge.
