Land Rover Range Rover Evoque crossover has been produced in Great Britain, China, Brazil, India since 2011. The model received many awards. For example, in 2011 it got the following titles: “SUV of the Year”, “Jeremy’s Car of the Year” from famous British TV-show “Top Gear”, and “Car of the Year” according to the British weekly newspaper “Auto Express”. In 2012 the car won the title “North-American off-roader of the Year”. The same year, the American “Motor Trend” magazine named it “SUV of the Year”.

History of Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

One generation, the L538, and one restyled version are presented nowadays. The car was produced in body versions of 3- and 5-door crossover and equipped with front- or all-wheel drive. The car was characterized by efficient fuel consumption and low level of CO2 emission. Also Range Rover Evoque was notable for excellent steerability thanks to the independent suspension.

The car weight was only 1670 kg due to the usage of aluminium in manufacturing of the bonnet and roof. Moreover, the trunk lid was made with the use of plastics.

The model had hi-tech equipment. Even in basic trim level the car was equipped with InControl multimedia system with the 8-inch touchscreen and ability to integrate smartphone, and the on-board computer with the 5-inch screen. The standard equipment included various safety systems, particularly, cruise-control, rear parking sensors, electric parking brake (EPB), systems of independent emergency braking (AEB) and road conditions adaptation (Terrain Response).

The model was presented in “Victoria Beckham Edition” trim level in 2012; it was created with participation of a famous British singer, actress and fashion designer Victoria Beckham. And the cars in “Yellow Edition” trim level appeared on the market in 2013. They had the body painted yellow and the black metallic roof. Trimming of the interior also featured numerous yellow elements.

Features of restyled Land Rover Range Rover Evoque L538 cars

Debut of the restyled model took place at Geneva Motor Show in 2015. The cars are still released in body versions of 3- and 5-door crossovers. Land Rover Range Rover Evoque convertible was added to them in 2017.

The car can be distinguished from the predecessor by enlarged, mounted on the front bumper air-inlets for brake system cooling and stylish headlights with halogen bulbs. A matte silver edging appeared around the black, made in the form of honeycombs radiator grille.

Interior of the car is perfectly combining luxury and comfort. Natural leather is used for steering wheel trimming; the front seats are adjusted by height, back inclination and other parameters. The steering wheel features electric power steering and has the buttons for audio-system control, cruise-control and Bluetooth interface.

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque cars are basically equipped with the dual-zone climate control with air recirculation system, and heating of the side mirrors, rear windscreen, front seats. The acoustic system with 8 speakers is included in basic trim level equipment; the top trim level features Meridian system with 10 speakers and the subwoofer.

The car security systems feature the electronic remote control, alarm system with perimeter sensors. The car is equipped with numerous safety systems: dynamic wheel torque distribution, rollover prevention (RSC), hill descent control (HDC), engine drag torque control (EDC) and others. In top trim level the car is also equipped with the surround view camera system.
