According to recommendations of Daimler AG concern, MB 228.1 motor oils should be used in engines of trucks, buses and special vehicles. Lubricants with this specification are included into SHPD category and are able to provide secure protection of powerful diesel engines with a turbocharger or without it, which work in conditions of heavy loads. They meet requirements for ACEA E2 category. They are available with the viscosity of 15W-40 and 20W-50.

MB 228.1 motor oils are suitable for the engines with service intervals extended to 30,000 km. According to the latest specifications list as of 2017, they are recommended for use in power units of the following series: BR 300, 400, 500, 900, OM 457 and OM 460 which are installed on vehicles of high loading capacity of Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands, and also on industrial vehicles. The lubricants of this specification are not suitable for the cars equipped with particulate filters.

Note:

1. It is only allowed to use the lubricants recommended by the car manufacturer.
2. Replacement should be performed at a service station.
