The SEAT Exeo cars were built from 2008 to 2013 in Spain. In 2009, they received The Golden Steering Wheel award established by the German magazines “Bild am Sonntag” and “Auto Bild” and a year later they were recognised as the best in their segment by the Finnish magazine Tuulilasi. The cars were used by the Italian police as service vehicles. The twin model is Audi A4.
The history of Seat Exeo
The vehicle has one generation, the 3R, and one facelift. The model debuted with the saloon body style at the Paris Motor Show in 2008. A year later, estate cars were added. The vehicles had a trapezoidal radiator grille with vertical bars, body-coloured mouldings on the sides, pentagonal headlights. Estate cars were fitted with rear wipers and a roof-rack. There was an armrest between the front seats. Information from the main car units was displayed on the screen in the central console.
Engines were equipped with an intercooler, turbocharger and the direct fuel injection technology. Diesel power units had a catalytic converter and a particulate filter. The suspension was independent, and the vehicle had power steering. Both axles were fitted with brake discs, vented on the front one. The base-level trim included ABS, electronic stability programme as well as electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control and auto emergency braking.
The features of the SEAT Exeo (the 3R, facelift)
The renewed cars were unveiled at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main in 2011. The saloons and estate cars now had a larger trapezoidal radiator grille with big cells. The front bumper and fog lamp frames had the same shape. The headlights were bi-xenon, accompanied by LED daytime running lights. Leather and Alcantara were used for the interior upholstery.
The base trim level included a multifunctional steering wheel, onboard computer, multimedia system with CD and MP3, rain and parking sensors. The Coming home technology switched off the headlights automatically after a preset interval in order so that the driver could get into the house safely. As optional extras, they offered a headlight washer system, two-zone climate control, remote boot release, tyre pressure monitoring system.
