Honda Stream is a seven-passenger minivan which was produced since 2000 to 2014. Production for European countries stopped in 2007. Assembling was performed in Japan and Indonesia.
History of Honda Stream cars
The model was presented by 2 generations and 2 restyled versions. The first generation of Stream started in 2000 and was equipped with three rows, which allowed to seat seven people. Due to sufficient body length – 4550 mm – all passengers felt comfortable in the car. Vehicle width was 1695 mm, and height – 1590 mm.
The model was restyled in 2003. The headlights of the updated car became polygonal. The enlarged radiator grille got a decorative element painted in body colour. The bumper grille lost the horizontal plank like that of the predecessor, while it was divided into sections by vertical ribs. Earlier, fog lights were situated on the bumper grille, but after restyling they were placed on each side of it in elegant niches.
The second generation of Honda Stream cars was released in 2006. Length of the novelty was 4575 mm, width – 1695 mm, and height – 1540 mm. The cars were equipped only with 5-speed automatic gearbox.
As for exterior, narrow headlights made the car look strict and modest. The decorative element disappeared from the radiator grille, the brand logo on the chrome bar was located on its upper part. The bumper grille, earlier shaped as a rectangle with a wider top, now had a wider bottom.
In 2007 cars of this model stopped being exported to Europe, but they still were sold in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia. Since 2009 restyled cars were produced. In 2014 production of these cars stopped for Japan and Singapore. They were exported to the Malaysian market till 2015. In Japan and Singapore the discontinued car was replaced with Honda Jade.
Features of restyled II generation Honda Stream
The restyled car got more expressive look. Particularly, it became possible due to V-shaped composition in the area of the front bumper. The chromed bar with the manufacturer’s logo shifted into the centre of the radiator grille. Also the renewed Stream minivan got side mirrors with integrated turn indicators.
The car was equipped with dynamic stability assist, electronic brake distribution, traction control. Moreover, the manufacturer added airbags for the driver and front passenger, including side airbags and fastenings for the child seat and seatbelt pretensioners.
The RST trim was characterised by lower weight and, as a consequence, better handling. It was possible, particularly, due to presence of only two passenger rows and use of 17-inch light alloy wheel rims.
