Hyundai i10 cars appeared on the market in 2007 and are produced till present. Car assembling is performed in India, Turkey, Algeria, Iran, Mozambique. Earlier, the cars were produced in Malaysia also. In 2008 the model was proclaimed “Car of the Year” by many Indian magazines and TV channels, particularly, BS Motoring, CNBC-TV18 AutoCar, NDTV Profit Car&Bike India, Overdrive magazine. Also in 2014, the car took “Golden Wheel” in “hatchback” category and prestigious awards “Car of the Year” and “Entry Hatchback of the Year” from NDTV Indian media organization.

History of Hyundai i10 cars

Totally, two model generations and one restyled version were presented. Worldwide premiere of the first generation, PA, took place in New Delhi, India in autumn of 2007. The car was presented in body version of 5-door hatchback. Its length was 3565 mm, width – 1595 mm, height – 1540 mm. As standard, 5-door hatchback i10 included anti-lock brake system (ABS) with brake force distribution, front airbags for the driver and passenger, seatbelt pretensioners, power steering. Standard equipment of the basic version also included the audio system with CD, MP3 support and radio.

The car underwent restyling in 2010. The headlights lost sharpened edges, and the bumper grille got a sophisticated curved shape. A thin chromed trim bar with the company logo was mounted in the centre of the slightly enlarged radiator grille. Black covers above the fog lights disappeared and the lights themselves got almond-like shape. Moldings on the sides and a protective cover on the rear part were painted in body colour, and the rear bumper got neat reflectors on it.

Features of Hyundai i10 IA/BA cars

In 2013 the manufacturer presented the second generation of the model, IA/BA, on International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main. The hatchback became longer than the predecessor by 80 mm and wider by 65 mm, while its roofline lowered by 40 mm. Now, car length is 3665 mm, width – 1660 mm, height – 1500 mm.

Exterior of the car became even more expressive thanks to the narrow radiator grille with the brand logo in the centre, the wide black cover on the bumper grille and headlights with considerably narrowed and extended outer edges. In extended trim levels, large black frames of the fog lights were framed with LED daytime running lights.

The interior of Hyundai i10 is very spacious and comfortable. Convenient compartments for things storing, including a bin in the central console, glove box with lighting, holders for bottles and cups were provided in it. Volume of the luggage compartment is 252 liters, and can be increased to 1046 liters by folding rear seats.

The dashboard contains TFT LC display of the trip computer where speed, traveled distance, levels of oil and brake fluid, as well as other useful information are shown. Standard equipment of extended trim levels includes Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) audio system with 7-inch touchscreen. It has USB and AUX sockets for connection of various devices, and, in some configurations - Bluetooth interface.

Standard safety functions of i10 basic trim level are: ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBV - electronic brake variator), integrated active control system (VSM - vehicle stability management), and emergency brake assist system (BA), dynamic stabilization (ESC - electronic stability control), and tyres pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Moreover, the hatchbacks are provided with six airbags and Isofix anchorages for a child seat. The car can be equipped with 4 rear parking sensors for additional charge.
