What are hydraulic engine and transmission mounts?
Hydraulic engine and transmission mounts consist of two chambers filled with working fluid and separated by a membrane. At low speeds or when the engine is idling, the membrane takes over the damping function. As the car gains speed and the amplitude of vibrations increases, the fluid comes into operation: flowing through special channels from one chamber into another, it increases the stiffness of the component. This makes driving significantly more comfortable in all engine operating modes by reducing the amount of vibrations transmitted to the car body. However, the stiffness of these products is limited to a certain range.
