The Lancia Phedra multi-purpose vehicle was manufactured from 2002 to 2010. The cars rolled off the assembly line in France. The car received the highest rating according to the results of the Euro-NCAP crash tests. The rebadged versions of this car were Citroen C8, Fiat Ulysse and Peugeot 807.
History of the Lancia Phedra vehicles
The model was represented by one generation and one facelift. The car could accommodate up to eight people comfortably. The passenger compartment of the car was spacious and transformable to a variety of configurations. So, the seats could be easily moved, turned or taken out. It was convenient to transport even large luggage in the Phedra multi-purpose vehicle. Moreover, the car was fitted with 60 compartments for storing things. Sliding rear doors made it easier for passengers to get in.
The car looked quite elegant. The headlights were made in the shape of quadrangles with rounded corners. The bumper grille was divided into three sections. Fine sculptured lines went from the radiator grille throughout the bonnet lid. Narrow vertical lights added more beauty to the rear part of the car body.
One of the distinctive features of the car interior was the location of the main instruments: they were placed in the centre of the dashboard under the meter hood. Behind the steering wheel, there was an information display of the onboard computer.
The Connect Nav+ satellite navigation system was a standard feature for many trim levels. All Lancia Phedra vehicles were fitted with ABS and ESP as well as anti-slip regulation. Moreover, the range of standard equipment included six airbags.
In 2007, there became available a trim level with the multimedia system LCD screens located on the back side of the front headrests. Two-coloured Alcantara was used in the upholstery of these cars.
The model was renewed in 2008. The production of these cars was discontinued in late 2010.
Features of the Lancia Phedra generation I cars, facelift
The updated vehicle got a new radiator grille with a bigger distance between vertical bars. The bumper grille gained chrome trimming. All the cars had 16-inch wheels. Three sunroofs, which improved visibility, were offered as an option.
Air conditioning and multimedia system were available for the car. Moreover, the manufacturer fitted the model with an improved navigation system and started to use more expensive materials for Phedra’s interior trim. In particular, Starlite Alcantara and two-coloured leather were used in the upholstery.
