Daewoo Nexia are passenger cars which were produced since 2014 till 2016. Car assembling was performed in South Korea, Vietnam, Poland, Iran, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Romania. In different countries the car was also produced under Chevrolet, Vauxhall, Pontiac, Asuna, Opel brands and had such names as Kadett, Astra, Astra Merit, GT. In India, Romania, the USA, New Zealand and Iran the model was sold as Daewoo Cielo, in South Korea – as Daewoo Le Mans.

History of Daewoo Nexia

One model generation was presented on the European market; it was sold since 1994 till 1997. Daewoo Nexia cars were produced in saloon, 3- and 5-door hatchback body versions. They were equipped with petrol engines of 75 hp, 90 hp or 101 hp output. As for toxic agents in exhaust gases, power units complied with Euro-2 eco-standard.

Since 1997 the cars were available in Poland, Romania and other countries. Since 2008 till 2016 the renewed model, Nexia II, was produced at Uzbek factory “UzDaewooAuto”. It was sold in Uzbekistan and some countries of East Europe. Standard equipment of the cars included automatic climate control and the acoustic system with CD- and MP3-support.

Features of I generation Daewoo Nexia cars

Model design was developed by the Italian company “Bertone”. The compact and laconic radiator grille and prolonged, almost square headlights were located on the front part of Daewoo Nexia hatchback. Model featured thin chromed moldings along the perimeter of the body.

The car rear seats could be folded. Due to this the luggage compartment capacity increased from 390 to 720 liters. The car rear doors were equipped with locks for children’s safety, remote control of the boot lid and the fuel tank flap was offered. The acoustic system with 4 speakers was included into car standard equipment. Power steering, air-conditioner with manual control, power windows were available as additional options. The steering wheel could be optionally adjusted for height and reach. Also one could order central lock and anti-theft alarm system. Moreover, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and driver airbag were offered for extra charge.
