Kia Cee’d cars were presented in 2006 and are still produced nowadays. Assembling is performed at the factory in Slovakia. It is the first Kia car, developed in Europe specially for the European market. The model took “Camping car of the year” award in 2007 according to version of “Camping Fritid” magazine. And in 2009 “AutoBild” magazine tested the car during 100 000 kilometers and approved the high level of its reliability. The same year, the car was proclaimed the most qualitative in its class, according to results of research, performed by “L’Automobile Magazine”.

History of Kia Cee’d cars

The manufacturing company presented two generations of this model and two restyled versions. The first model generation, debuted in 2006, got ED index. Initially, only a 5-door hatchback was available, then, in summer of 2007 they produced Kia Cee’d station wagon. 3-door hatchback was added in body range at the beginning of 2008.

Cars of the first generation were basically equipped with six airbags, ABS, anti-skid system, power window winders, central lock in all configurations. Climate control, security system, cruise control, rain sensor, active headrests of the front seats were available in extended configurations. It is worth noting leather seats and sliding glass roof with electric drive amongst additional options.

The second generation, JD, started in 2012. New cars were basically equipped with curtain airbags and Emergency Stop Signal system – ESS. The glove box with cooling was one of the useful things, which made travel more comfortable. In extended configuration, the multifunctional steering wheel, automatic system of windshield sweating prevention, dual-zone climate control with air ionization system were standard options. Moreover, the manufacturer presupposed function of automatic doors locking at acceleration.

In 2013 modifications of 3- and 5-door Cee’d hatchbacks, marked as GT, became available. Their peculiarity is a petrol engine with 1.6 liters volume and 204 hp power. And renewed car debuted in 2015.

Features of restyled Kia Cee’d JD

Presentation took place on International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main. Car exterior underwent insignificant changes. Thus, chromed plastic trim covers around the fog lights of the restyled car became bigger and shape of the bumper grille changed: it became smaller. The car is equipped with the LED daytime running lights even in basic configuration. Construction of Kia Cee’d rear lights changed. While the decorative plastic trim covers on the rear bumper were replaced with grilles.

The list of basic configuration equipment includes, in particular, Bluetooth interface with voice recognition function, USB and AUX sockets, cooled glove box with lighting. The front and rear parking sensors, accessory for multimedia device fastening on the front seat back and other useful elements are available as additional options. In extended configuration the cars are basically equipped with 16-inch light alloy wheel rims, rearview camera, satellite navigation system with 7-inch touchscreen. Also, the cars presuppose ability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps use for smartphone connection.
